World famous cricket icon Wasim Akram was caught in an unsettling incident following the conclusion of play on Day 2 in Perth.
According to CODE Sports website, the former Pakistani fast-bowler was wrapping up a live broadcast with Star Sports when an unruly fan began verbally harassing him from the boundary fence. Despite having previously given the individual an autograph, the abuse reportedly continued for nearly an hour and even persisted as Wasim attempted to leave Optus Stadium and catch a taxi.
In response, Cricket Australia and Perth Stadium officials have pledged to bolster security measures. Plans include providing commentators with private car pickups directly from inside the stadium to avoid future confrontations.
