    World Cup: Mbappe and Haaland score 2 each, Algeria edge over Jordan

    Algeria came from behind to defeat Jordan 2-1 in Group J, reviving their FIFA World Cup campaign and eliminating the tournament debutants. Nizar Al-Rashdan gave Jordan a first-half lead, but substitute Nadhir Benbouali equalised with a header before Amine Gouiri struck the winner eight minutes from time. The victory moved Algeria level with Austria on three points and set up a decisive final group match, while Jordan exited the competition with one game remaining.

    Norway 3-2 Senegal

    Erling Haaland scored twice as Norway defeated Senegal 3-2 to book their place in the FIFA World Cup last 32. Marcus Holmgren Pedersen opened the scoring before Haaland struck on either side of Ismaila Sarr’s first goal for Senegal. Sarr added a late second, but Norway held on to secure a second straight victory and qualification with a game to spare. The win leaves Norway level with France on six points, while Senegal must win their final group match to keep their hopes alive.
    France 3-0 Iraq
    Kylian Mbappe scored twice as France cruised to a 3-0 victory over Iraq in a World Cup match heavily disrupted by a lengthy weather delay. The French star opened the scoring before thunderstorms halted proceedings for nearly two hours at halftime. After play resumed, Ousmane Dembele added a second and Mbappe completed his brace to secure France’s second straight win. The result all but guarantees France a place in the knockout stage, while Iraq’s hopes now depend on their final group match.
