NAB Freezes Malik Riaz’s ‘Ali Villa’ and 4,500+ Acres in Massive Bahria Town Crackdown
KARACHI: Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched a major crackdown against Bahria Town Karachi, freezing Malik Riaz’s sprawling 67-acre “Ali Villa” estate along with more than 4,500 acres of land linked to alleged illegal acquisition and misuse.
According to NAB Karachi, the luxurious Ali Villa, located in Bahria Hills and featuring a helipad and mini zoo, has been officially frozen as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption and land fraud.
The bureau also froze 1,338 acres of land, including Bahria Greens and several precincts of Bahria Town Karachi. The affected precincts reportedly include 33, 34, 38 to 40, 42, and 61. NAB claims the land belongs to the Sindh government.
In a separate move, NAB froze another 3,150 acres linked to Bahria Town 2, alleging that forest department land was unlawfully used and that the land was acquired through fraudulent means.
The Director General of NAB Karachi has issued formal directives to relevant authorities, ordering that the land must not be transferred or sold to any third party. Bahria Town Karachi has also been barred from selling or transferring the disputed properties.
NAB has filed Reference No. 1/2025 in the Accountability Court Karachi, accusing Bahria Town and associated individuals of illegally occupying and misappropriating 17,672 acres of government land worth an estimated Rs708 billion.
The reference further alleges collusion by certain Sindh government officials and raises questions regarding the construction of Bahria Town near the M-9 Motorway.
NAB investigators claim fresh revelations have surfaced during the probe, indicating what officials describe as one of the largest land-related corruption cases in the country’s history.
