Two senior American envoys have officially confirmed that Israel deployed its Iron Dome missile defence system and military personnel to the United Arab Emirates during the recent US-Israel conflict with Iran.
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee confirmed the deployment during an event in Tel Aviv, saying Israel had sent Iron Dome batteries and operators to help protect the UAE from potential Iranian missile attacks.
“I’d like to say a word of appreciation for the United Arab Emirates, the first Abraham Accord member,” Huckabee said during the Tel Aviv Conference. “Just look at the benefits. Israel just sent them Iron Dome batteries and personnel to help operate them.”
His remarks came a day after US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz also confirmed that Israel’s Iron Dome system had been used to intercept Iranian missiles targeting the UAE during the conflict.
The statements mark the first public and official acknowledgement that Israel’s advanced missile defence system was deployed and actively used in the Gulf state.
The UAE, which formally recognised Israel under the Abraham Accords in 2020, has steadily expanded security and defence ties with Israel in recent years, particularly amid growing regional tensions linked to Iran.
The UAE government has not yet officially commented on the statements made by the American envoys.
Israel’s Iron Dome is a mobile air defence system designed to intercept short-range rockets, missiles and drones, and has been widely used in regional conflicts to protect populated areas and military sites.
Analysts say the confirmation highlights the deepening strategic cooperation between Israel and Gulf allies, especially as regional security concerns continue to rise.
