Arshad A. Zuberi, the Deputy Chief Executive of Business Recorder newspaper, passed away at 73. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, and five grandchildren to mourn his loss. His younger son, Ahmed, follows in his footsteps as a noted media business person, along with his siblings Wamiq and Asif, and nephew Ahad.
Zuberi was instrumental in elevating Business Recorder to its current stature, serving as publisher, printer, and a respected commentator on economic and financial matters. His extensive list of achievements includes serving multiple terms as the Secretary General of the All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS), co-founding the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), and being a regular delegate to international forums like the IMF, World Bank, WTO, and ILO. He also held advisory roles in various national institutions such as the Economic Advisory Council, Federal Board of Revenue, and State Bank of Pakistan.
Zuberi, the second child of senior newspaper editor M A Zuberi, completed his intermediate studies at Adamjee Science College before graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the United States. He returned to Pakistan to help grow the family business, foregoing further academic pursuits.
