PTI leader Hammad Azhar was detained in Multan and handed over to Lahore Police, but his formal arrest remains unrecorded as authorities review cases.
PTI leader and former federal minister Hammad Azhar has been detained, but police have yet to formally record his arrest.
According to police sources, several cases have been registered against Azhar in connection with the May 9 incidents and subsequent events. He was wanted by police in Lahore and several other cities.
Police officials said the legal status of Azhar’s detention and the cases against him is being reviewed. Documents related to his cases will be prepared and he will be presented before the court.
It may be recalled that Hammad Azhar was arrested in Multan a day earlier and handed over to Lahore Police.
