Murtaza Dar has taken on a dual leadership role at Nukta Pakistan, joining as Head of Social Strategy and Regional Editor in a position that combines editorial authority with platform strategy at one of Pakistan’s emerging digital media organizations.
The appointment brings together two dimensions of modern journalism that are increasingly inseparable — the editorial judgment to identify and shape stories that matter, and the strategic intelligence to ensure those stories reach and resonate with digital audiences.
A Dual Mandate
As Head of Social Strategy, Dar will lead Nukta Pakistan’s approach to shaping, packaging, distributing, and consuming journalism and content across digital platforms, with a focus on audience development, storytelling innovation, and growth.
As Regional Editor, he will provide editorial leadership, shape coverage priorities, and ensure important stories receive the depth and treatment they deserve.
Dar described the role as more than a new title. “It is a bigger responsibility, a broader mandate and an opportunity to contribute to NUKTA at a more strategic level,” he said.
AI and the Future of Storytelling
Dar highlighted artificial intelligence as a central theme of the evolving digital media landscape. “Newsrooms and content creators have to think beyond simply producing content. They have to understand audiences, platforms, formats and technology — especially Artificial Intelligence — and how these should resonate with the new requirements of storytelling.”
Team MediaBites congratulates Murtaza Dar on this exciting new chapter. The digital journalism space is stronger with committed professionals who understand both its editorial heart and its strategic future. Best of luck.
