The big contest of the Lahore Press Club 2025 elections has concluded. Journalist Progressive’s Arshad Ansari defeated his rival, Pioneer Progressive’s Babar Dogar, by 290 votes.
However, history was made yesterday when Pioneer Progressive’s Saima Nawaz caused a major upset by defeating Journalist Panel’s Amjad Usmani by 107 votes, becoming the Female Vice President of the Lahore Press Club.
For the position of Senior Vice President, Journalist Progressive’s Afzal Talib defeated Pioneer Progressive’s Hafiz Faiz Ahmed by 343 votes.
For Secretary, Journalist Progressive’s Zahid Abid defeated Pioneer’s Zahid Sherwani by 288 votes, with young Jafar Bin Yar also securing 375 votes.
For Joint Secretary, Journalist Group’s Imran Sheikh defeated Pioneer Progressive’s Makhdoom Athar by 77 votes, with Farrukh Atta Butt also securing 360 votes.
For Treasurer, Journalist Panel’s Salik Nawaz received a historic number of votes, defeating Pioneer’s Jawad Rizvi by a margin of 471 votes.
The Governing Body members elected include Mudassir Sheikh, Badr Saeed, Khawaja Sarmad Farukh, Rana Shehzad, Shahida Butt, Mehboob Chaudhry, Shakir Mahmood Awan, Asad Mahmood Guddu, and Ulfat Mughal.
