The famous donut house in Islamabad, Crusteez Donuts, issued a formal apology to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, after an employee allegedly verbally insulted the Chief Justice.
The reaction spread on social media on its own, with many voices shocked at the manner in which the top judge was disrespected.
What was in the video?
A video circulating online has Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and his wife, Sarina Isa, along with their daughter Sahar Isa, ordering from the shop, Crusteez Donuts, in the federal capital.
At one stage in the video, a bakery staffer is heard asking whether he was actually speaking to Faez Isa, who was making the order. He responded with a curse as the Chief Justice authenticated his identity.
The outburst came as a shocking and unexpected surprise to many, who were said to have remained silent while it was uttered in front of his family.
Apology from bakery
The bakery finally posted an apology about the incident on social media after the video received so much attention. It happened to confirm the incident and repudiate the actions of the employee, after having an understanding of the whole situation.
In the statement, it was made clear that such acts of impropriety are not the behavior of the company but the personal activity of the employee.
“We are committed to treating each of our customers fairly and with due respect. We are seriously investigating the misconduct by our employee and have already started the process of retraining staff to ensure that such incidents do not recur,” the statement read.
They further clarified that the company does not discriminate against any customer based on political, religious, or social backgrounds.
Status of Employee
The online shares also brought rumors saying the bakery has been sealed or that an employee has been fired or even missing. However, in media reports, such reports are denied. The bakery runs as usual while the employee is not terminated but failed to report to work.
