QUETTA: Dr. Mah Noor Nasir, the doctor who was injured in a shocking acid attack in Quetta, is now out of danger and receiving treatment at a private hospital in Karachi, according to hospital sources.
Doctors said that her eyesight has been preserved despite injuries caused by the attack. Medical assessments revealed that around 13 percent of her body suffered burns, while 7 to 8 percent sustained deeper wounds. Examinations also found moderate corneal haze in both eyes, but her vision remains intact.
Hospital officials stated that Dr. Mah Noor is being treated under strict medical supervision, with specialists in plastic surgery and ophthalmology actively involved in her care.
The attack took place at Quetta’s Civil Hospital, after which she was shifted to Karachi for advanced treatment. Medical experts confirmed that her life and limbs are currently not at risk.
Meanwhile, police identified the alleged attacker as Humayun Shah, a lift operator by profession. Authorities said the suspect was later killed in a police encounter, and weapons were recovered from his possession.
In a separate development, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced a civil award for Abdul Razzaq Tareen, who provided immediate assistance that helped save Dr. Mah Noor’s life following the attack.
