Faisalabad | July 9, 2025 — In what is being called the largest cybercrime crackdown in Pakistan’s history, security forces raided the warehouse of PML-N leader and former FESCO Chairman Tehseen Awan in the 54-RB area of Faisalabad’s Balochni police jurisdiction.
The joint operation—led by sensitive intelligence agencies, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Cybercrime Wing—uncovered what officials have described as a “high-tech cybercrime headquarters.”
Shocking Discoveries During the Raid
During the high-profile raid, law enforcement officials detained nearly 400 Pakistani and foreign men and women suspected of involvement in a massive cybercrime ring. Charges include:
-
Online fraud against citizens
-
Unauthorized access and withdrawal from bank accounts
-
Hacking of business websites and portals
According to initial findings, the criminal activities were being conducted using state-of-the-art equipment.
High-Tech Seizures
Authorities recovered a vast array of computers, LCDs, and advanced hacking devices, some of which were linked to international cybercrime networks. Forensic experts are currently analyzing the seized devices to trace the extent and origin of the operations.
Heavy Security Presence
The raid involved dozens of police officers, elite force commandos, and intelligence operatives, underlining the scale and severity of the criminal network involved.
-
Female suspects were shifted to the Women’s Police Station
-
Male suspects were taken into custody by the Cybercrime Wing and other local police units
Broader Investigations Underway
Sources reveal that this is just the beginning of a much larger probe. Authorities believe that the network may be part of an international cybercrime syndicate, with links stretching beyond Pakistan’s borders.
“This operation could open Pakistan’s very own ‘Pandora’s Box’ in the world of cybercrime,” said a senior FIA official.
The raid has triggered a wave of concern across law enforcement and tech sectors, as investigators now widen the scope to identify potential collaborators and digital footprints nationwide.
This landmark case may very well redefine cybercrime enforcement in Pakistan and could serve as a warning to transnational criminal networks operating in the digital shadows.
