Ashley Knapp has joined Thales as Communications Director, Asia, based in Singapore, bringing extensive corporate affairs, crisis communications and regional leadership experience to the role across Asia’s markets.

Ashley Knapp has joined Thales as Communications Director, Asia, taking up the Singapore-based role in September 2026.
Knapp announced her appointment on LinkedIn, marking her latest move after several years in senior corporate communications and public affairs positions across Asia.
In her new role, she will oversee internal and external communications, crisis communications and related corporate communications functions for the region.
Four years at Schneider Electric
Knapp joins Thales after nearly four years with Schneider Electric, where she served as Head of Brand and Corporate Affairs, East Asia, from June 2022 to April 2026.
During her tenure, she led corporate, executive, internal and external communications across 14 countries, working with a regional community of around 20 communications professionals.
Her responsibilities included reputation management, executive communications, crisis communications, media relations and employee engagement.
Knapp also led Schneider Electric’s Green Impact Gap campaign, which focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence, sustainability and Green IT.
Experience across reputation and stakeholder communications
Before joining Schneider Electric, Knapp was a Senior Vice President at Teneo, where she advised senior leadership teams on reputation risk, ESG disclosure narratives and stakeholder communications.
Her earlier career also included work as an independent Strategic Communications Advisor, providing communications counsel to organizations and leadership teams.
Knapp previously served as Head of Communications, Asia Pacific, at 100 Resilient Cities, an initiative pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation.
Her experience spans corporate reputation, strategic communications, executive positioning, crisis response and stakeholder engagement across Asian markets.
Her appointment at Thales comes as multinational companies continue to place greater emphasis on integrated corporate communications, reputation management and crisis preparedness across diverse regional markets.
With her background in managing communications across multiple countries and working with senior leadership teams, Knapp will bring regional corporate affairs experience to her new Singapore-based position.
