World No. 1 Jannik Sinner successfully defended his Wimbledon men’s singles title by defeating Alexander Zverev in four sets to lift his fifth Grand Slam trophy.
Sinner came from a set down to win 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4 in a thrilling final that lasted three hours and 46 minutes. The Italian took control late in the third set and carried that momentum through the fourth to seal victory.
The triumph marks Sinner’s first title of 2026 and makes him a back to back Wimbledon champion. With the win, the 24 year old continues his dominance at the top of men’s tennis after another impressive Grand Slam campaign.
After converting championship point with a powerful forehand winner, Sinner collapsed onto the grass in celebration before embracing Zverev at the net. He then climbed into the stands to celebrate with his family and team.
Zverev pushed the defending champion throughout the match and claimed the opening set in a tense tiebreak, but Sinner responded with outstanding shot making and remarkable fitness to turn the contest around.
The champion received £3.6 million in prize money, while runner up Zverev earned £1.8 million.
With another Wimbledon crown, Sinner strengthened his place as the leading player in men’s tennis and added another major title to his growing collection.
