A tragic incident in Lahore’s Valencia area has left three children and their mother dead in a suspected poisoning case, while police have taken the children’s father into custody for further investigation.
According to police, Nasir Dogar had returned to Pakistan from abroad a few days before the incident. At the time of the tragedy, he had gone to a nearby market to buy groceries. Upon returning home, he found his three children dead, while his wife was in critical condition. She was rushed to a hospital but later died.
The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Aleena, 16-year-old Rehan, 11-year-old Arshia, and 9-year-old Arsal.
Preliminary investigations suggest the children may have been given poisoned food. Police suspect the woman later consumed the same food herself.
Police investigators and forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, and all four bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities said Nasir Dogar has been taken into custody for questioning, adding that the investigation is ongoing and the exact cause of the deaths will be determined after post-mortem and forensic reports are completed.
