A Pakistan Air Force group captain was reportedly shot dead in Islamabad after intervening to stop a young man from allegedly forcing a girl into accompanying him, according to police sources.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Khanna Police Station on Band Khanna Road, where the suspect allegedly attempted to take the girl with him against her will. Sources said the girl resisted, leading to a physical altercation between the two.
The accused, identified as a 20-year-old resident of the Band Khanna Road area, is reportedly matric-educated and had previously worked as a salesman at an electronics shop.
According to sources, the group captain stopped his vehicle after noticing the scuffle and intervened to prevent the suspect from allegedly harassing the girl. The suspect reportedly became enraged after being confronted.
Sources further stated that the accused opened fire on the group captain, who was inside his vehicle at the time, before fleeing the scene.
Authorities later arrested the suspect, while investigations into the killing are ongoing.
