Rabat, Morocco – April 20, 2025
In a powerful display of cultural unity and humanitarian outreach, Kalimat Foundation, Sharjah, has rolled out a series of inspiring educational and cultural initiatives across multiple Moroccan cities, coinciding with the 30th edition of the Rabat International Publishing and Book Fair. The initiatives reflect the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to making reading a fundamental right for every child.
Speaking about the campaign, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Founder and Chairperson of Kalimat Foundation, Sharjah, said: “We are not simply providing children with books; we are offering them tools to dream and a window onto a broader world of possibilities.”
The cornerstone of the effort was the “Pledge a Library” initiative, which saw the donation of 600 Arabic-language children’s books, including four Portable libraries for schools and associations, and 200 books awarded to young Moroccan reading champions. These initiatives were designed not just to donate books but to cultivate a culture of reading within classrooms and homes, nurturing curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
A highlight of the programme was Sheikha Bodour’s visit to Moulay Ali Cherif Primary School in Rabat. Accompanied by school leaders and cultural officials, she led an interactive reading session from her book House of Wisdom, gifting each student a copy and igniting their imagination with stories rooted in Arab heritage. The school also received a Portable library of 100 Arabic titles.
In Ifrane, the Foundation visited the ASSAS Association, donating another Portable library and launching a hands-on workshop where children created costumes inspired by Famous by Accident, a Kalimat Group publication. The Foundation also renovated the local library and provided 10 digital tablets, ensuring access to modern learning tools.
Two additional libraries were gifted to Walja Al Sultan and Al Tanmiya School Groups, and 200 books were presented to the winners of the Moroccan Reading Network Award.

Kalimat Foundation’s efforts in Morocco are part of a larger mission — to empower underserved children globally with access to books and education, proving that reading is not a privilege, but a basic right and a lasting gift.
