A 24-year-old Russian renowned actress, Kamilla Belyatskaya, tragically drowned after being swept into the sea by a huge wave while practicing yoga on the rocks at the Lad Koh viewpoint in Koh Samui, Thailand.
According to foreign media, actress was sitting on her pink foam yoga mat, facing the Gulf of Thailand, Belyatskaya suddenly struck by a giant wave, pulling her into the turbulent waters.
A brave man who attempted to rescue her also succumbed to the waves, and unfortunately both disappeared from the sight.
Actress Kamilla, from Novosibirsk, Russia, had been visiting the island with her boyfriend and frequently returned to the spot she described as “home.”
Local rescue teams faced difficulties due to the rough sea conditions, and their efforts were suspended after 30 minutes.
Actress body was discovered later, but unfortunately the man who tried to help has not been found yet . The Koh Samui rescue teams have closed access to the viewpoint area and set up a search center to locate the missing man.
