With a career built in Lahore, Dubai and Atlanta, the filmmaker has developed a cross-disciplinary body of work and an international production presence.
LAHORE: Pakistan’s creative professionals are increasingly visible in film and digital media beyond the country’s borders. Among them is Naseer Haider Siddiqui, an Atlanta-area filmmaker whose career began in Lahore and has developed over more than two decades into international work in animation, visual effects and cinematography.
Siddiqui started at Style 360 television in the early 2000s, gaining broadcast experience before moving to Dubai. There he worked across television, advertising, CGI and post-production, building expertise in both visual design and the practical demands of production.
From Lahore to a regional media hub
Dubai’s expanding media industry provided opportunities to collaborate with broadcasters, agencies and production teams. Siddiqui’s experience grew to include 3D animation, motion graphics, visual-effects supervision and aerial cinematography. His projects also extended to architectural visualization, helping communicate ambitious developments through computer-generated walkthroughs.
Over the years, his work has involved media and production organizations in the Gulf, including projects associated with Dubai TV, Abu Dhabi broadcasters and MBC. He has also worked for international media organizations, including the BBC and CNN.
A production career beyond one discipline
Now based in Georgia, Siddiqui leads Black Bird Motion Media in the United States and maintains a separate Black Bird aerial photography business in Dubai. His professional work encompasses film and video production, editing, CGI, compositing and drone cinematography.
That range has allowed him to contribute at different stages of a project, whether developing visual concepts, planning a shoot, capturing footage or completing detailed post-production. It has also helped him move between broadcast, commercial and narrative work.
Recognition and creative independence
Siddiqui has participated in professional film and visual-effects communities, including the Visual Effects Society, and has taken part in film-festival judging activities. His independent action short, Exfil, received film-festival attention in 2025 and gave him a platform to combine directing with the technical skills he has developed over his career.
He is also investigating the use of artificial intelligence within filmmaking and VFX. For an industry changing rapidly, he sees value in combining newer production tools with the experience required to manage a project from concept to completion.
A connection to Pakistan
Although his professional work now extends across continents, the foundations of Siddiqui’s career remain in Lahore. His path from Pakistani television to international production illustrates the opportunities available to artists who develop their craft and carry it into new markets.
It is a story of a Pakistani creative professional building a career overseas while remaining connected to the country where that journey began.
