Pakistan’s military links regional peace to restraint and sovereignty, backs de-escalation in global tensions, and vows decisive action against terrorism while rejecting Afghan Taliban allegations.

Pakistan’s top military leadership on Tuesday emphasized that regional peace and stability depend on “collective restraint, responsibility and respect for sovereignty,” amid rising geopolitical tensions.
The statement came after the 275th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, chaired by Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The forum reviewed the evolving security environment, noting that recent global developments—including tensions between the United States and Iran—have significant implications for regional stability.
Military leaders stressed the importance of avoiding escalation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s role in supporting diplomatic efforts to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
The conference expressed satisfaction over the operational preparedness and combat readiness of the armed forces, with Field Marshal Munir commending commanders for their performance in ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
The forum also resolved to sustain momentum against militant networks under Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, aiming to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and eliminate safe havens.
Participants criticized the policies of the Afghan Taliban, accusing them of providing sanctuary to militants, including the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The military rejected what it described as “misleading propaganda” by Kabul, asserting that Pakistan’s actions are targeted solely at terrorist elements.
The meeting also marked the first anniversary of Marka-i-Haq, described as a defining moment reflecting national unity and resolve.
The forum further condemned alleged human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir, reiterating Pakistan’s diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people.
Paying tribute to fallen soldiers and civilians, the military leadership said their sacrifices form the foundation of national security and resilience.
Concluding the session, Munir directed commanders to maintain high levels of vigilance and operational readiness, emphasizing adaptability and coordinated responses to emerging security challenges.
