QUETTA: Police have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of young businessman Hashim Khan Noorzai, a case that has shocked the business community in Balochistan.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Saadullah, is the victim’s cousin. Investigators allege that he conspired with an accomplice to kill Hashim Khan Noorzai in an attempt to take control of his hotel and other business interests.
Hashim Khan Noorzai had spent several years working abroad before returning to Pakistan to invest in Balochistan. He established a hotel, catering service, and wedding hall, reportedly creating employment opportunities for around 400 people.
The fatal shooting took place on Airport Road in Quetta. Police say the attackers allegedly used a black Vigo vehicle fitted with a fake number plate in an apparent effort to conceal their identity. CCTV footage from the area played a key role in tracing the suspects.
Following an intensive investigation, police arrested Saadullah from Quetta’s Satellite Town. Authorities claim he attended the victim’s funeral and condolence gatherings despite allegedly being involved in the murder.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine the full motive, recover evidence, and identify any additional suspects. The allegations against the accused will be tested in court.
