US President Joe Biden has announced his bid for re-election in 2024, stating his commitment to protecting democracy and fundamental rights.
Vice President Kamala Harris also intends to run for another term. In a video shared on Twitter by his campaign team, the 80-year-old Democrat emphasized the ongoing battle for the soul of America and urged people not to be complacent. Biden criticized Republicans as a threat to American freedom and pledged to fight against attempts to restrict women’s healthcare, cut Social Security, and ban books. Despite his age making his run for re-election a historic and risky move for the Democratic Party, medical professionals have declared him fit for duty after an examination in February. Former President Donald Trump has also declared his intentions to run for president in 2024 after losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden.
