Pakistani cricketer Rumman Raees has criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for removing former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed from both the captaincy and the ongoing home series against New Zealand.
Speaking in a YouTube podcast, Rumman questioned the PCB’s decision to sideline Sarfaraz, who had led Pakistan to a Champions Trophy victory and 11 consecutive T20I series wins. Rumman argued that Sarfaraz’s previous successes should not be ignored, and criticized the decision to remove him as captain based on one bad series. Sarfaraz was reportedly forced to step down from his captaincy in 2019 after Pakistan’s defeat in the ICC World Cup. He made a comeback earlier this year, scoring a match-saving century in a Test match against New Zealand.
