In an industry known for rapid shifts, fierce competition, and constant career moves, Shaheen Raza’s 23-year association with Geo remains a rare story of loyalty, resilience, and consistent performance.

For nearly three decades, Shaheen Raza has remained a familiar and respected figure in Pakistan’s media sales and advertising circles. Calm, composed, and strategically sharp, he built his reputation not through noise, but through relationships, results, and long-term credibility.
An MBA graduate from CBA Lahore (1994–96), Shaheen began his career in 1996 as a Marketing Officer at Network Television Marketing (NTM), where he gained early exposure to media marketing and client management during the formative years of Pakistan’s television industry.
In April 2000, he joined the Jang Group of Companies as Marketing Manager, strengthening his foothold in the country’s competitive advertising market. However, the defining chapter of his career started in May 2003, when he joined Geo TV Network as Director Sales North.
What followed became one of the longest and most stable professional associations in Pakistan’s electronic media business.
Over the years, Shaheen witnessed every major phase of the industry, from the rise of private news channels and fierce TRP wars to economic downturns, digital disruption, and shifting advertising trends. Yet he remained firmly positioned through experience, client trust, and consistent delivery.
Personally, I mostly encountered Shaheen Raza at media launches, corporate events, and industry gatherings, where he maintained a formal but professional relationship with everyone around him. Away from the media hustle, I casually met him once or twice in Eden Avenue Extension while he visited relatives. Whether people admired him or disagreed with him, one reality remained undeniable, he proved his value through hard work, discipline, and measurable results.
Like many successful media executives, Shaheen also faced criticism and industry gossip, including allegations linked to advertising interests. But instead of reacting publicly, he handled criticism with composure and a quiet confidence that became part of his personality in media circles.
Some viewed him as “Akru” or overly reserved, but many insiders believed that perception came largely from the commanding influence of the Geo brand itself, which naturally gave its leadership a dominant presence in the market.
His strongest asset remained his grip over clients and advertisers. Backed by long-standing professional relationships and strong corporate confidence, particularly from major business groups like Orient, Shaheen consistently delivered ambitious targets and maintained influence in an increasingly competitive market.
His brief move elsewhere in the industry was widely seen as temporary, and his quick return to Geo only reinforced where he truly belonged.
Today, after 23 years with Geo and nearly 30 years in media sales, Shaheen Raza continues to be regarded as one of Pakistan’s most experienced and credible media professionals, respected for his professionalism, consistency, and ability to stay relevant in a constantly changing industry.
MediaBites congratulates Shaheen Raza Bhai on completing 23 successful years with Geo TV Network and wishes him continued success in the years ahead.
