The federal government has announced a reduction of Rs8.47 per liter in the country’s petrol price for the following two weeks, primarily because of decreased fuel prices in the international market.
According to the most recent fuel prices, the cost of petrol has decreased from Rs 269.43 to Rs 260.96 per litre.
The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was also decreased by the federal government, dropping from Rs 272.77 per liter to Rs 266.07, a reduction of Rs 6.7.
The Ministry of Information issued a statement on Tuesday announcing the news.
The reduction in fuel prices is a significant relief for the general population as the nation prepares to commemorate 77 years of independence on August 14, Independence Day.
The decrease in fuel costs is anticipated to provide some ease for residents who are already struggling with increasing living expenses. The government’s action is perceived as a meaningful effort to alleviate the financial burdens on the public, especially amidst economic difficulties.
The government hopes that the immediate implementation of the new prices will ease some of the economic burden experienced by consumers nationwide.
