CHAKWAL: The post-mortem report of 9-year-old Hania Adil, who was killed in a shooting allegedly involving a Crime Control Department (CCD) official, has revealed the severe and fatal nature of her injuries.
According to the report, Hania died after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds that caused massive blood loss and severe trauma. Medical experts stated that the extent of the injuries led to the failure of her heart and lungs.
The post-mortem examination found a total of 11 bullet-related injury marks on the child’s body. A metallic bullet fragment was recovered and handed over to the police as evidence. The report also noted that her right thigh bone was badly fractured due to the gunfire.
Doctors reported that a bullet severely damaged Hania’s right lung, causing blood to accumulate in her chest cavity. Her liver, large intestine, and small intestine also suffered critical injuries. Deep entry and exit wounds were found on her right chest, abdomen, thigh, and left elbow.
The report confirmed that all injuries were ante-mortem, meaning they were inflicted before death. Medical findings indicated that the wounds were so severe that they were sufficient to cause immediate death under normal circumstances, leaving virtually no interval between the shooting and her death.
According to the medico-legal report, approximately six to eight hours elapsed between Hania’s death and the post-mortem examination. Hospital authorities sealed and handed over her blood-stained clothes, X-rays, and other evidence to the police.
The incident occurred on June 10 in Punjab’s Chakwal district, where Hania Ahmed was killed after gunfire was opened on her family. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
