Tensions between Pakistan and India continue to rise following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In a significant diplomatic move, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio urged Pakistan to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation into the attack, which claimed 26 lives and raised fears of cross-border tensions.
In a phone call with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Secretary Rubio emphasized the importance of restraint and responsible conduct from both nations.
“India should avoid any actions that may further escalate the already fragile situation,” Rubio advised, calling for both nuclear-armed neighbors to prioritize dialogue and de-escalation for the sake of regional stability.
Following the call, Dr. Jaishankar issued a strong statement, declaring,
“The perpetrators, their handlers, and masterminds must face justice.” Meanwhile, the Indian Army reported an overnight exchange of fire along the Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border in disputed Kashmir, marking the seventh consecutive night of cross-border firing.

Indian authorities have released wanted posters of three suspects allegedly involved in the Pahalgam attack. According to Indian police, the individuals—two Pakistanis and one Indian—are believed to be affiliated with the banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.
As the situation unfolds, the international community is watching closely, concerned that further escalation could destabilize the already tense South Asian region.
