The United Arab Emirates has announced a new Golden Visa category for endowment donors, recognizing their role in supporting humanitarian causes. This step highlights the UAE’s commitment to building a stronger, more compassionate society.
The initiative was launched through a partnership between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) and the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (Awqaf Dubai). The agreement was signed during GITEX GLOBAL 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The ceremony was attended by GDRFA-Dubai Director General Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri and Awqaf Dubai Secretary General Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, along with senior officials from both organizations.
Lieutenant General Al Marri described the agreement as a key model of government-community integration. He said it empowers donors to play an active role in community development and reflects Dubai’s humanitarian vision.
The partnership aims to strengthen institutional cooperation and embed humanitarian values into Dubai’s broader social and development ecosystem. By honoring donors through the Golden Visa, the UAE is encouraging more people to contribute to meaningful social causes.
This announcement marks another step forward in the UAE’s vision to recognize generosity, strengthen its social fabric, and promote sustainable development through community partnerships.
