KAGHAN: A sightseeing trip to the scenic Naran-Kaghan Valley ended in tragedy after a tourist vehicle plunged into a deep ravine, killing two young men and injuring three others.
The victims were traveling from Khanpur to Naran-Kaghan when their car lost control in the mountainous area of Kaghan and fell into a gorge, according to rescue officials.
The deceased were identified as 22-year-old Hamza Qadeer, a resident of Khanpur, and 20-year-old Irfan Mughal, a resident of Nawab Shah. The two were cousins and had traveled to the valley with family members for a recreational trip.
Among the injured is Osama, who is reported to be in critical condition. The remaining injured passengers were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Rescue sources said Irfan Mughal was visiting Naran-Kaghan with his cousins when the fatal accident occurred.
News of the tragedy cast a pall of grief over Khanpur, with mourning reported in the affected families. The bodies of the deceased have been dispatched to their hometowns in Khanpur and Nawab Shah for burial.
