Similar to its sister app TikTok, Lemon8 allows users to share short-form videos and photos. However, Lemon8 focuses primarily on lifestyle content, with categories such as Food, Travel, Home, Fashion, and Beauty. This enables users to easily find specific posts that interest them.
Lemon8 is essentially a mashup of Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok. The app’s appearance follows the two-column grid layout of Pinterest, with TikTok’s buttons located at the top and bottom of the screen. Users can like, comment, share, and save posts to their collections, just as they would on Instagram.
To use Lemon8, users can select their interests upon installing the app, curating their feed from the start. Once in the app, users can scroll through posts and tap on them to view them, similar to Pinterest. Users can follow creators to see their posts regularly and can create their own posts by selecting the yellow plus sign on the home screen.
Before posting, users can add tags, text, stickers, and use pre-designed templates to design their posts. Users must also add a headline and caption to their post before posting it. Lemon8 can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
