Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, President of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), recently attended the AUS Alumni Reunion, where she witnessed the unfaltering spirit of generosity and community that is the soul of the university. More than 600 graduates came together under the theme “Pay It Forward” to celebrate a shared legacy and inspire future generations. Each conversation, performance, and idea shared reflected the transformative power of education.

“I’m so proud of how far our alumni have come and excited about how far they have yet to travel,” said Bodour Al Qasimi. The reunion was a testament to the enduring bonds formed at AUS and the shared commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
The American University of Sharjah started its operations in 1997. As for Bodour Al Qasimi‘s achievements, she has been a trailblazer in various fields. She is the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and President of AUS, Chairperson and President of Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, and Chairperson of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa).
She has also made significant contributions to the publishing industry, including founding the Emirates Publishers Association and serving as the first Arab woman President of the International Publishers Association. The Sharjah Book Authority is a milestone in the UAE’s publishing industry, and its annual Sharjah Book Festival is a treat for millions of book lovers across the globe.
