King Abdullah University of Technology has opened the application for its International Internship Program 2024, offering a total of 130 fully funded positions for students from all over the world.
This prestigious program provides undergraduate and master students with a unique opportunity to conduct research at KAUST-a leading research university in Saudi Arabia-considering world-class scientists, engineers, and professionals at KAUST.
The KAUST Visiting Student Research Program, which will last for 3 to 6 months, is an intellectual opportunity for students to come together and collaborate in various areas of science. Students from a number of disciplines may apply, which include Bioengineering, Bioscience, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, among many others. The other area of application covers students majoring in Marine Science, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, and Energy Resources.
This year, KAUST would like to attract an additional 130 international interns in its program, regardless of race, color, or ethnicity, by further enhancing a diverse and inclusive community. The involvement of participants in this instance will aid in gaining more academic knowledge, hence giving hands-on experience in advanced laboratories and a chance to network with leading experts in their respective fields.
Activities include laboratory and fieldwork, data workshops, and international conferences. While the fellows are treated to the research component, the program assurance extends to cultural activities and field trips for an exciting learning experience.
“A KAUST internship opens a window of opportunity to students for unparalleled hands-on experience and the ability to work alongside experts in some of the world’s most advanced scientific facilities,” added a KAUST spokesperson.
“We will make sure that all the possible support will be given to them in order to make their internship with us a big success.”
In addition to the academic and professional benefits of the internship, KAUST also covers all expenses for the internship, including air travel, visa fees, accommodation, health insurance, and a living allowance.
With the completeness of the program, this has tended to be a highly sought-after opportunity to have the students realize their expectations in the improvement of skills to future professional developments in their careers. On the other hand, some graduates of the internship have gone ahead to secure an additional international opportunity.
