A pregnant woman was allegedly abducted, tortured, and killed in Balochistan’s Awaran district, prompting calls for a thorough investigation and justice for the victim’s family.
According to local reports, Rubina was allegedly abducted during the night of July 20–21 from Awaran district. Her mutilated body was recovered on July 25 from the Kabri Kor Nala area.
The victim’s father accused Akbar, son of Ghani, of abducting his daughter with the assistance of members of the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF). He alleged that Rubina was held captive for several days, subjected to torture, and later killed before her body was dumped at the location where it was found.
He has demanded a full investigation into the incident and called on authorities to bring all those responsible to justice in accordance with the law.
Commentators have described the alleged killing as a serious human rights concern, saying that targeting women is contrary to humanitarian values and local social traditions. They also warned that such incidents contribute to fear and insecurity among residents of Balochistan.
Note: The allegations regarding the involvement of the banned BLF are claims made by the victim’s family and have not been independently verified. Authorities have not publicly announced the outcome of any investigation at the time of writing.
