Pakistani mountaineer Dr. Asma Mushtaq died at high altitude while descending after successfully summiting 7,027-meter Spantik Peak in the Karakoram mountain range.

Dr. Asma Mushtaq, a Pakistani mountaineer, traveler and travel content creator, has died at high altitude while returning from the successful summit of Spantik Peak.
Mushtaq was part of an expedition to Spantik Peak, which stands at 7,027 meters in the Karakoram mountain range. According to reports, she successfully reached the summit alongside her guide, Ali Akbar, and was reportedly in stable health at the time.
However, her condition deteriorated during the descent at a high altitude. Her guide provided initial medical assistance, but she could not survive.
Efforts are underway to coordinate with relevant authorities and arrange the recovery and transportation of her body. The expedition organizer, Karakoram Calling Treks, is also working with officials on the necessary arrangements.
Born on February 7, 1992, Asma Mushtaq was known among the mountaineering community for her passion for mountains, adventure, travel and natural landscapes.
Following news of her death, social media users expressed deep sorrow and offered prayers for the departed soul. Her tragic death has also highlighted the serious risks associated with high-altitude environments and the importance of timely medical assistance during mountain expeditions.
