The International Cricket Council (ICC) has now officially confirmed that the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team will not travel to India for the 2025 Women’s World Cup. Instead, their matches will be played in Sri Lanka as part of a hybrid hosting model.
The tournament, which runs from September 30 to November 2, will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with five venues spread across the two countries. India will host the majority of the matches, including the opening game in Bengaluru on September 30 and, most likely, the final on November 2. However, all of Pakistan’s matches will take place at a neutral venue in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.
This decision was foreshadowed a month ago when the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the women’s team would not be playing in India. The move comes amid ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan, and it mirrors previous ICC events where similar arrangements were made to accommodate the strained relationship between the two nations.
During a press conference in Lahore, the president Mr. Naqvi was asked about the team’s participation in the World Cup, in which he stated, “Pakistan will not travel to India, as this formula has already been agreed upon

Honestly, it’s frustrating that politics still affects cricket like this. Pakistan women’s team deserves proper neutral support and attention, not endless venue drama every tournament. Playing in Sri Lanka instead of India changes atmosphere, crowd energy, even pressure levels. People act like location doesn’t matter, but athletes feel all of that mentally. I’ve been following women’s cricket way more lately and even checking match stats and odds on https://bc-game.org.pk/ , which is a Pakistan-focused sports betting and online casino platform with live cricket coverage, esports, casino games, and fast deposits through JazzCash and crypto. At least fans still get ways to stay connected to the matches despite all this mess.
