Pakistan has decided to make three vital modifications in their squad for the first T20I against England being played on May 22 at Leeds. Fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, as well as opening batsman Usman Khan, are likely to make it to the final squad. This precedes the series of four matches which is the last assignment for both teams ahead of T20 World Cup, held in June. Opener Saim Ayub and bowlers Hasan Ali, who were in the squad for the third T20I against Ireland, may be dropped in order to accommodate the new players in the squad. Haris and Usman were also not in the team that played the three-match T20 series against Ireland, which Pakistan won 2-1.
In addition to that, the team management is also thinking about giving a chance to Shadab Khan or Abrar Ahmed by replacing at least one pacer. Pakistan plans to take the full team to the series against England to test the squad for the ODI World Cup. Head coach Gary Kirsten, who would join the Pakistan squad from tomorrow, will finalize the lineup together with the management group of the team.
