Multan International Airport has set a new aviation record by handling 37 flights in a single day, marking a significant milestone for air connectivity in South Punjab. The record comes amid a busy 24-hour period during which 449 flights were operated across Pakistan.
Multan Airport Records Highest-Ever Daily Flight Activity
Multan International Airport experienced an exceptionally busy day as a total of 37 flights were recorded within a 24-hour period. According to the flight schedule, 18 flights landed at the airport, while 19 flights departed for various domestic and international destinations.
The increase in flight activity highlights the growing demand for air travel in South Punjab and further strengthens Multan’s position as an important aviation and economic hub in the region.
Pakistan’s Airports Handle 449 Flights
During the same 24-hour period, a total of 449 flights were operated across airports in Pakistan. However, 68 flights were cancelled due to administrative and technical reasons, while 112 flights faced delays.
Major airport figures included 135 flights at Karachi, 105 at Lahore and 118 at Islamabad. Peshawar recorded 27 flights, Faisalabad 12, Sialkot 15, Quetta reported six delayed and six cancelled flights, while Multan handled 37 flights.
Growing Air Travel Demand in South Punjab
The record number of flights at Multan Airport reflects the increasing demand for air travel in South Punjab. The region has emerged as an important centre for business, trade and economic activity, contributing to rising passenger traffic.
