A disturbing murder case from the outskirts of Lahore has come to light in which a 45-year-old mother of eight children systematically groomed a 16-year-old boy named Atif, using her own 14-year-old daughter as bait, before manipulating him into helping kill her husband two years ago.
The Trap Is Set
Atif had dropped out of school and was learning the ceiling installation trade when his 14-year-old neighbor initiated contact, gave him her phone number, and began daily conversations filled with declarations of love and promises of devotion. Within weeks, she invited him to her home, telling him her mother liked him and wanted to meet him.
What followed was a calculated seduction by the mother herself. The 45-year-old woman welcomed Atif warmly, told him the house was his own and he could visit whenever he wished. Over time, while Atif maintained a verbal romantic relationship with the daughter, he became physically involved with the mother.
The Manipulation Deepens
The woman then confided her troubles to Atif, telling him her husband beat her, controlled her movements, and made her life unbearable. She promised him that if he helped her “get rid of this problem,” she would marry her daughter to him and their lives would be filled with happiness.
Atif initially refused. He even approached his own mother to ask for the daughter’s hand, but was turned down. The girl’s father also rejected any proposal, saying his daughter was too young. Undeterred, the woman continued applying pressure. The daughter staged self-harm theatrics to keep Atif emotionally hooked, while the mother escalated her manipulation. Disturbingly, the woman’s 12-year-old son also reportedly prayed for his father’s death alongside his mother and sister.
The Night of the Murder
On the night of the killing, the mother and daughter mixed sleeping tablets into rice and fed it to the husband. Once he lost consciousness, they called Atif. While he was already present in the house, another of the couple’s younger sons returned home unexpectedly, and the woman fed him the drugged rice as well, putting him to sleep.
With the husband incapacitated, Atif, the woman, her eldest daughter, and her teenage son held the man down, bound him, and strangled him with a dupatta. After confirming he was dead, the woman sat on his chest and pressed a pillow over his face until she was satisfied.
The four then debated what to do with the body. The mother suggested burning it in a hay pile. The children argued for burying it. They finally agreed to dispose of it in a nearby canal. At 1am, Atif and the woman’s son transported the body by motorcycle and threw it into the water.
The Unravelling
Twenty-four hours later, the body was recovered from the canal. Police identified the victim and began their investigation. The widow told officers her husband had left home saying he was going to Lahore for work, claimed she knew nothing about his death, said he had no enemies, and asked for the case to be closed as God’s will.
But call records told a different story. Repeated contact between Atif’s phone and the woman’s number drew police attention. Under questioning, the entire plot unraveled. Atif, the woman, her daughter, and her son were all arrested.
The victim’s remaining children were distributed among relatives. The convicted are currently serving time in prison.
