Lahore, the “City of Gardens” is the most polluted city globally. Despite the weekend break, air pollution in Lahore, the provincial capital, has not improved.
The air quality in Lahore has worsened, with the city holding the top spot in the list of the world’s most polluted cities.
According to the Air Quality Index (AQI), Lahore recorded an alarming AQI of 409. Any AQI between 151 and 200 is considered harmful, 201 to 300 is extremely harmful, and anything above 301 is deemed dangerous.
The city’s average smog level stands at 409, with specific areas like Burki Road recording an AQI of 593, DHA at 451, and Thokar Niaz Baig at 416.
Citizens have expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s efforts to combat smog and air pollution, deeming the Punjab government’s actions insufficient.
According to the Meteorological Department, Lahore’s minimum temperature today is expected to be 21°C, with a maximum of 33°C, and wind speeds recorded at 10 km/h.
