In an unexpected twist of events in Kolkata, a police volunteer named Sanjay Roy, who is accused of murdering a 31-year-old female doctor from RG Kar Medical Hospital, has been found to have frequented a brothel and consumed alcohol prior to the incident.
According to reports from Indian media, the incident unfolded on the night of August 8 when Sanjay Roy and another volunteer ventured into a red light district in North Kolkata. It is alleged that the two engaged in drinking and other activities before Sanjay returned alone to the vicinity of the hospital in a state of intoxication.
Witness accounts suggest that Sanjay, still under the influence, lingered near the trauma wing of RG Kar Medical College Hospital until around 3:30 am. Eventually, he entered the hospital, made his way to the operating room, and then proceeded to the seminar hall, where the victim was present. It is alleged that Sanjay seized the opportunity to sexually assault the female doctor before taking her life.
Recent investigations have uncovered disturbing details about Sanjay’s behavior on the night of the incident. Reports suggest that while under the influence, he sexually assaulted a woman who happened to be passing by and also reached out to another woman with messages and requests for explicit photos.
Additionally, it was revealed that Sanjay Roy had been involved in a confrontation with a male doctor at the hospital months prior, during which he also directed his anger towards a female physician.
Although he later apologized, this incident now appears to be part of a concerning pattern. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently handling the case and has sought court approval to conduct a lie detector test on Sanjay Roy, to delve deeper into the details of the crime.
