PTI protest continues in Islamabad . Pakistan’s capital Islamabad has turned into a “container city” in recent days due to PTI. Almost 700 containers have been used to block roads, disrupting traffic and movement. On this scenario, a bridal photoshoot featuring a newlywed couple posing in front of the containers has gone viral on social media.
Qasim and Khola, the newly couple, made a tough decision against the backdrop of the current political climate, which has now garnered widespread attention online.
Khola, a teacher, told BBC: “We had planned our wedding all functions, Mehndi, Baraat, and Walima in Islamabad. Due to the current political situation, we had to wrap up the Mehndi event early. On the day of the Baraat, we couldn’t reach the venue for the wedding shoot because of the roadblocks. As a result, we ended up doing the shoot in a friend’s drawing room and garden. The next day, which was our Walima, we were completely unsure of what to do.”
She further told that all the roads leading to their planned photoshoot locations were blocked by containers. With no other option, they decided to conduct the shoot right in front of the containers.
Qasim, who works as a Business Development Manager for a international company, shared that the idea of shooting near the containers was suggested by their wedding photographer. “The photographer suggested that posing in front of the containers would make our wedding memorable.”
Newly groom added, “We had no idea the photos would go so viral. People now recognize us and ask, ‘Have you seen your video?’ Sometimes, strangers point at us and say, ‘That’s the couple who shot in front of the containers.’”
He explained, “Our events were disrupted, our wedding outfits got ruined, but in the end, we found something that made our wedding truly memorable.”
