Iranian president says two-and-a-half-hour meeting was calm, friendly, and based on mutual trust
WEBDESK – MediaBites News — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has revealed details of his first lengthy meeting with Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei following recent US attacks on Iran, describing the discussion as friendly, calm, and deeply constructive.
According to Iran’s Mizan News Agency, President Pezeshkian shared details of the meeting while addressing trade representatives and market officials in Tehran. He said the discussion with the Supreme Leader lasted nearly two-and-a-half hours, though he did not specify the exact date of the meeting.
The Iranian president said the conversation took place in an atmosphere of trust, openness, and direct dialogue.
“This meeting was held in a very friendly and calm environment, where discussions were carried out openly and directly,” Pezeshkian reportedly said.
The meeting is being viewed as highly significant because reports had circulated regarding Mojtaba Khamenei’s health and possible injuries following the attacks on Iran on February 28. Since those strikes, the Supreme Leader had not appeared publicly, fueling speculation over his condition.
Pezeshkian’s remarks are now being interpreted by analysts as confirmation that the Iranian leader remains active and involved in state affairs.
The Iranian president also stressed that holding public office should not be seen as a source of privilege or superiority, but rather as a heavy responsibility tied to public service, accountability, and commitment.
He added that what impressed him most during the meeting was the Supreme Leader’s communication style, behavior, and approach to national issues.
According to Pezeshkian, the discussion created an atmosphere of confidence, empathy, calmness, and direct engagement.
The president further declared that Iran would not allow foreign pressure or external conspiracies to obstruct the nation’s progress, independence, and national dignity.
He acknowledged that Iran’s future path may remain difficult but described it as “honorable,” emphasizing that the country would continue forward with public support, national unity, and cooperation from economic institutions.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and growing international scrutiny following recent military escalation between the United States and Iran.
