Abdul Sattar Edhi, a legendary Pakistani philanthropist, has been honored with a highway billboard in Jalandhar, Indian Punjab, for his incredible contributions to humanity. His remarkable legacy transcends borders, earning admiration and gratitude worldwide.
Edhi’s journey began in 1951 with a humble dispensary in Karachi, which blossomed into one of Asia’s largest and most successful health and welfare networks. His organization provided essential services, including ambulance services, healthcare, food and shelter, and education.
These services included a fleet of over 600 ambulances, often the first to arrive at accident scenes, as well as free clinics, hospitals, and nursing schools. Additionally, Edhi’s organization offered soup kitchens and homes for the homeless and physically handicapped, alongside schools and vocational training centers.
