FIFA World Cup 2026 ticket rush has reached unprecedented levels. The international football body revealed that it received over 500 million ticket requests for the upcoming tournament. Fans from Germany, England, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, and Colombia were among the most active outside the host nations: the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Tickets for the World Cup are priced up to $8,680. However, after criticism, FIFA introduced $60 tickets for all 48 national federations. These federations will manage distribution, prioritizing fans who attended previous games.
The most-requested match in the third sales phase was Colombia vs. Portugal on June 27 in Miami Gardens, Florida. Other popular matches include Mexico vs. South Korea on June 18, the final on July 19 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and the opener between Mexico and South Africa on June 11. Fans also showed high interest in a second-round match on July 2 in Toronto.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino said, “We regret that we cannot welcome every fan inside the stadiums. That is why we are creating multiple ways for fans to experience the FIFA World Cup 2026, both online and in person.” Ticket allocation will be random for matches where demand exceeds supply. FIFA will notify applicants about their ticket status no earlier than February 5.
With millions of fans eager to attend. The FIFA World Cup 2026 ticket rush highlights the global excitement for soccer’s biggest event. Football lovers worldwide are preparing for what is expected to be the largest and most memorable World Cup ever staged.
