Gujranwala: As Tayyab sits in police custody on charges of beating his pregnant wife and killing their unborn child, his brother Osama has come forward with a stunning counter-narrative, alleging blackmail, fabricated injuries, and a financial motive behind the entire case.

A domestic violence case from Gujranwala has taken a dramatic twist after the brother of the accused made explosive allegations on Wednesday, claiming the entire case is a calculated conspiracy to extort Rs1.5 crore from their family.
Tayyab is currently in police custody on remand, facing charges of torturing his pregnant wife Arooj and causing the premature death of their five-month unborn daughter. A formal case has now been registered against him for domestic violence and the killing of the unborn child.
But his brother Osama is telling a completely different story.
The Counter-Claim
Osama alleges that Arooj’s family owed their family Rs1.5 crore, with a payment deadline approaching. Just two days before that deadline, a quarrel broke out between Tayyab and Arooj in their bedroom.
“Both of them had a physical altercation. Both raised hatheir nds on each other,” Osama said, “but the claim that he severely beat her, kicked her in the stomach a,nd left her critically injured is complete nonsense.”
He insists Arooj left their home on her own, called her mother and brothers herself, and walked out without any visible injuries or distress.
The Most Serious Allegation
What Osama says next is the most explosive part of his account.
He claims that after Arooj returned to her parents’ home, her own family gave her something that induced premature labor. The five-month-old baby girl was born prematurely and did not survive.
“We have medical reports from just days before this incident declaring both Arooj and the baby completely healthy,” Osama said. “She left our home in perfect condition. They harmed their own daughter and granddaughter to grab Rs1.5 crore and frame my brother.”
He further alleges that the injuries visible on Arooj’s face were artificially created after she left their home, not caused by Tayyab.
The Offer That Raises Questions
In a statement that cuts both ways, Osama addressed Arooj’s family directly: “We are willing to forgive the Rs1.5 crore debt. Just withdraw the false case against my brother for a crime he did not commit.”
That offer, while framed as a gesture of reconciliation, is likely to raise as many questions as it answers.
What the Law Says
Tayyab remains on police remand. The case against him includes charges of domestic violence and the death of an unborn child, both serious criminal offences under Pakistani law.
Osama has called on police and senior officials to investigate the case on merit, saying whoever is truly at fault must face justice. He has also announced that his family will soon file a counter-case with evidence.
Two Versions, One Dead Infant
At the centre of this case is a five-month-old baby girl who did not live to see the world. Whether she died because of violence inside a marriage or because of something far more calculated is now a question for investigators to answer.
Both families have made their claims. The truth, and who bears responsibility for that child’s death, remains to be established in court.
This is a developing story. MediaBites will update as new information becomes available.
