PSL 12 Dates Announced as Cricket Fans’ Wait Comes to an End
The wait for cricket fans is finally coming to an end as the dates for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 12 have been announced. Fans can now mark their calendars for the return of Pakistan’s biggest T20 league.
PSL 12 will begin on March 18, 2027, with the final scheduled to be played on May 2. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), eight teams will once again compete in PSL 2027 for the second consecutive season. The league window was finalized after consultations with the PSL Governing Council and franchise owners.
When Will PSL 12 Begin?
Pakistan Super League 12 will run from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with eight teams competing for the title.
The PSL Governing Council meeting was held in London on September 1, with owners and representatives of all eight franchises in attendance. Following the meeting, the league window was finalized, giving fans nearly one and a half months of exciting T20 cricket.
Eight Teams to Remain in PSL
Like the previous edition, PSL 12 will feature eight teams. However, details regarding direct signings, the player auction, the complete schedule, venues and ticketing will be announced by the PCB at a later stage.
Once these details are released, fans will particularly focus on the host cities, ticket prices and squads of their favorite teams.
Player Auction System to Continue
It is worth noting that PSL 11 introduced a player auction for the first time, replacing the traditional player draft. The change increased interest among both fans and franchises.
Meanwhile, the previous final at Gaddafi Stadium attracted 32,461 spectators, setting a record attendance. The figure highlights the growing popularity of the league in Pakistan.
Fans’ Expectations
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said PSL 11 demonstrated the league’s potential to the world, featuring thrilling moments, record crowds and new broadcast records.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer also expressed his commitment to meeting fans’ expectations in 2027, saying the announcement of the PSL 12 window is only the first step and all eight teams will prepare strongly for the title.
PSL 11 was won by Peshawar Zalmi, who defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final to lift the PSL trophy after nine years.

The March 18 to May 2 window is longer than most T20 leagues, so scheduling around school exams and Ramadan timing could matter for attendance in the host cities. One practical step: once the PCB releases venues, check the travel distance between cities before booking anything, since back-to-back matches in different cities can make a single trip impractical. Also track the auction date separately, because squad announcements usually change which matches are worth attending.
