KHANPUR: Several passengers were injured after a bus carrying 45 people caught fire near Mai Wali Mosque in Khanpur on Thursday.
According to reports, the bus was traveling from Khanpur to Alipur when the fire suddenly broke out, triggering panic among passengers. Rescue teams and local police rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the incident.
Passengers claimed that crates of mangoes loaded onto the bus contained chemicals, and the fire may have started after the chemical substance overheated. The exact cause of the blaze, however, is yet to be officially confirmed.
The fire caused significant damage to the vehicle. Rescue personnel provided first aid to some of the injured passengers at the scene, while others were shifted to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the fire.
