The highly anticipated Collaboration between Pakistan and Turkey, “Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi” (Saladin: The Conqueror of Jerusalem), is set to debut on Turkey’s national TV channel TRT 1 on November 13.
Notably, Turkish actor Uğur Güneş, known for his remarkable performance in TRT’s famous historical series “Diriliş: Ertuğrul,” where he portrayed Tugtekin Bey, takes on the lead role of Sultan Selahaddin Eyyubi.
The series takes viewers on an immersive journey into history, with filming taking place on an expansive, meticulously crafted set that faithfully recreates the ancient city of Damascus. This elaborate set includes replicas of mosques, bustling bazaars, grand palaces, and ancient homes, sprawling across an impressive 200-acre area.
“Selahaddin Eyyubi” delves into the life of Sultan Eyyubi, the legendary commander known for his heroic capture of Jerusalem during the Crusades and for founding the Ayyubid dynasty.
Last week, Uğur Güneş, Adnan Siddiqui, and the other producers unveiled the long-awaited teaser for the historical series, which will chronicle Eyyubi’s capture of Jerusalem in the Crusades.
Adnan Siddiqui, sharing the trailer on Instagram, emphasized the importance of revisiting history and persevering despite adversity. He highlighted how Sultan Selahaddin Eyyubi, the iconic warrior, offers valuable lessons in courage, determination, justice, and generosity. The king whose name is remembered with honor comes to life on screens starting November 13.
