Three people were killed and 36 others injured in attacks by Houthi rebels targeting two airports in Saudi Arabia, according to Saudi civil aviation authorities.
The first attack took place at Abha International Airport in Asir Province, near the border with Yemen. Authorities said two women, one Moroccan and one Algerian citizen, were among those killed. At least 28 people were injured, some of them critically. The injured included citizens from Bangladesh and the Philippines, and all were taken to hospitals for medical treatment.
The King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was also targeted. The attack killed one Sudanese national and injured eight people, including two Egyptian citizens and one Pakistani national.
Saudi civil aviation authorities said both airports sustained damage in the attacks. They added that all necessary measures were being taken to ensure the safety of passengers and airport staff.
Meanwhile, Saudi-led coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Malki said that a ballistic missile launcher used to carry out attacks targeting the Saudi capital, Riyadh, had been destroyed.
