Pakistan’s most renowned actor Ahad Raza Mir has made a significant mark internationally by showcasing his talent on a global platform. His role in Netflix’s famous series “Resident Evil” served as a big milestone in establishing his worldwide recognition.
Ahad recently appeared on a podcast where he was questioned about the bold scenes in “Resident Evil”. He candidly addressed the issue, saying, “I was aware that doing such scenes would bring criticism, but it’s important to note the double standards. On one hand, we show violence and profanity in films and dramas, which a large audience enjoys. But if romantic moments are depicted, it suddenly becomes a problem.”
Ahad further expressed on the criticism, highlighting the selective outrage:“People don’t seem to have an issue with similar scenes in Hollywood or Bollywood movies, despite the fact that these films wouldn’t be complete without them.”
He explained that working on an international series comes with unique challenges and expectations: “This was a global project, and the requirements of such series are vastly different from what we typically encounter.”
Sharing his experience of working on “Resident Evil”, Raza Mir revealed his personal connection to the franchise: “I’ve been playing the Resident Evil game since childhood, and working on a story based on such an iconic game was an entirely different experience.”
He further expressed gratitude for the positive reception of his portrayal of Arjun Batra in the series, stating that viewers appreciated his performance immensely.
