Pakistan is gearing up to introduce its very own original series on the popular streaming platform, Netflix.

According to reports from Variety, the highly anticipated show titled “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo” boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, and Ahad Raza Mir in prominent roles. This marks a significant milestone as Netflix delves into Pakistani-themed content, and with its star-studded lineup, the series is poised to capture the attention of global audiences.

Adapted from the acclaimed 2013 Urdu novel of the same name by Farhat Ishtiaq, “Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo” follows the intriguing journey of Sikandar, a brilliant law student at Harvard, whose life takes an unforeseen turn, prompting him to build emotional walls between himself and others. Set against the backdrop of Italy, Sikandar encounters Liza, a talented artist weighed down by a tumultuous past yet brimming with vitality. Their serendipitous meeting intertwines their destinies in a profound tale of human connection in Netflix.

The Netflix cast reads like a who’s who of the Pakistani entertainment industry, with the dynamic duo Fawad Khan and beloved figure Mahira Khan reuniting after their record-breaking success in “The Legend of Maula Jatt,” Pakistan’s highest-grossing film. Joining them are Sanam Saeed, who previously shared the screen with Fawad in “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” and the upcoming series “Barzakh,” along with Ahad Raza Mir, recognized for his notable appearances in Netflix’s “Resident Evil” and BBC’s “World on Fire” Season 2.

The ensemble is further enriched by the addition of Hamza Ali Abbasi, remembered for his role as the main antagonist in “The Legend of Maula Jatt.” They are joined by Bilal Ashraf, Maya Ali, Iqra Aziz, Hania Aamir, Khushaal Khan, Nadia Jamil, Omair Rana, and Samina Ahmed. This constellation of talent promises performances that will resonate deeply with viewers.

“Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo” is spearheaded by Momina Duraid Films, led by the visionary Momina Duraid. The production company’s past works, including “Bin Roye,” “Chand Tara,” and “Fairytale,” showcase her ability to create narratives that evoke both emotion and authenticity. The show has received the green light from Netflix’s Middle East and North Africa team, highlighting the streaming giant’s dedication to diverse storytelling from the region in the Netflix original.

Spanning filming locations across Italy, the UK, and Pakistan, the production guarantees stunning visuals and a culturally immersive backdrop for the upcoming drama. While the exact streaming release date remains undisclosed, anticipation is steadily building.

Farhat Ishtiaq’s literary genius has previously found success on the Netflixscreen, with popular serials like “Humsafar,” “Mere Humdum Mere Dost,” “Matae Jaan Hai Tu,” “Diyar-e-Dil,” “Bin Roye,” and “Yaqeen Ka Safar” effectively brought to life on Pakistani television.

Furthermore, Netflix’s upcoming series “Heeramandi,” envisioned by acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is set to transport viewers to pre-independence India, specifically Lahore’s Heeramandi region, now situated within Pakistan’s borders. This promises to be another immersive storytelling experience from the streaming platform.
